How to Protect Your Energy in Online Spaces

Simple digital boundaries can reduce emotional overload without requiring you to disappear from social media or ignore the world.
Online spaces bring other people’s fear, anger and urgency directly into your attention. Even when you are physically alone, constant posts and notifications can leave your energy feeling crowded.
Choose when the door is open
Set specific times for news and social media instead of checking whenever discomfort appears. Turning off nonessential notifications prevents every opinion from arriving as an emergency.
Notice what your body tells you
If your jaw tightens, breathing shortens or you begin scrolling faster, pause. Put both feet on the floor and name five things in the room to return your awareness to the present.
Close the energetic connection
After logging off, wash your hands, step outside or picture blue-white light clearing the space around you. Say, “I release what I witnessed but do not need to carry.” Find more grounded practices on the Guided Energies blog.
